Outline for this week is two things.
One is "the web as a technology" and the other is "the web as an art form".
-the web as a technology
tim berners-lee made WWW(World Wide Web). WWW is a collaboratively authored hypertext ,
a standard and a vast, heterogeneous network of people and machines.
WWW is related with many organizations;iso,ietf,rfc,w3c.
iso: international standards organization
ietf: internet engineering task force
rfc: request for comments
w3c: world-wide web consortium
uri: universal resource identifier
html: hypertext markup language
http: hypertext transfer protocol
-the web as an art form
lisa jevbratt, mark napier and rsg collective are related with art.
Mark napier is an internet artist.

Summary & Commant 2
Summary
We learned about Hypertext ,Tristan Tzara's recipe for composing a poem , Engelbart , H-LAM/T system in this week.
I think Hypertext is like Link; we heard it more often than Hypertext in our daily life. So we can go quickly and directly from one to another.
Tristan Tzara's recipe for composing a poem uses an article in newspaper. It is the poem where the letter has become the union with random.
Engelbart invented so many things!!
the mouse, 2d display editing, hypermedia & hypermedia email ... etc.
H-LAM/T system has two separate domains of activity.
by the system & by the artifacts.
Commant
I think Engelbart invented very important tool. It is the mouse. we always use it when we use computer. I can't imagine the world we don't have the mouse.
Hypertext is very familiar to me. I just think it is just Link and Tristan Tzara's recipe for composing a poem , H-LAM/T system are strange to me. It is hard to understand them.
because I didn't hear them before.
I think this class learns about history of computer . And I have wanted to learn about history of computer . But um.... a little difficult for me...

Summary & Commant 1
We read two writings this week.
One is "welcome to the present" and the other is "As we may thnik" by Vannevar bush .
The present at "welcome to the present" means now around us but actually it means our own reality; far from real world.
It mentions technology.
And "As we may think" ......
It was so difficult for me to read but I try to understand it.
Vannevar bush wrote this article.
He talks about Memex and microfilm selector.
I have not heard them before so it was strange to me.
Memex was based on Bush's work.
We can surf Internet now partly because of Memex.
It was so amazing that he wrote the article in 1945 and we still read and learn it !!
Microfilm selector was seen at movies.
They,Memex and microfilm selector, are really brilliant thoughts and a big part in history of technology.
I write this Summary & Commant first time. It was very difficult for me but I feel interesting.
I didn't well because it was first time but I will be better as time goes by !!
I like this class and I will study very hard because I want to understand this class so that I explain my friends.
